District Holiday Card

Bowling Green R-1 Families,

As we find ourselves at the end of the first semester right before winter break, I think I can say without a doubt that this has been a tremendous semester for our district!  From the performance results in our district report card, to the effectiveness of our activities for students and athletic success including two final four appearances.  Students are getting support they need and our community continues to come through for our BGR-1 Family.  I hope you are able to take time during this break to recharge and enjoy time with your friends and family.

I know that many of you are concerned about weather tomorrow, and so am I.  We have been watching weather briefings, and this particular situation is fairly unique, considering only having one day left in the semester before break.  With the impending Winter Advisory and the threat of freezing rain, snow, high winds, and lowering wind chill on the way, I am making the decision to close the district tomorrow, Thursday, December 22.  I am announcing this now in order for families to have time to plan.

Lastly, Lisa Shimp has been working with 4th and 5th grade art students each year to submit entries of their own art work to be considered for the district holiday card.  This year, Adelia Becker’s work was chosen and is attached.  Be sure to congratulate Adelia!!!  And thank you for your work with our students, Ms. Shimp!  To see all of the entries, navigate to this link for the BGE & FE Artwork Gallery - https://t.ly/bwis

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Be Safe!  We will see students back on January 9th bright and early.
